Disposal of Unused Prescription Medications

Medicines play an important role in treating many conditions and diseases, but when they are no longer needed, it’s important to dispose of them properly to avoid harm to others. Medicine take-back programs for disposal are a good way to remove expired, unwanted or unused medicines from the home and reduce the chance that others may accidentally take the medicine.

The Arizona Crime Prevention Association provides this map for safe disposal of unused/unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications.

Additionally, the Gilbert Police Department now has a SHARPS/SYRINGE KIOSK for safe deposal to the public. This service was made possibly by a grant to the A.C.P.A., Inc. by County Attorney, Bill Montgomery, of the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
